Balen sends fine notice to Former King via postal service

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City on Sunday sent a penalty notice to former King Gyanendra Shah after he refused to accept the fine letter.

As a result, the city police force sent the letter via postal service.

A team led by DSP Purnachandra Bhatta of the Metropolitan Police reached this morning to deliver the letter.

However, when they were denied entry, they were forced to send the penalty notice through the postal system.

The metropolitan authorities imposed a fine of Rs 793,000 on former King Shah for violating various regulations during an incident last Friday.

The fine was levied across nine categories, with a total of eight separate notices issued to him.
