Acting PM Singh, World Bank VP discuss Urban Development Cooperation
Vice President Zutt welcomed the ministry’s approach of concentrating on key areas and assured that the World Bank is positive about supporting such initiatives.
KATHMANDU: Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakash Man Singh, held talks today with Johannes Zutt, Vice President of the World Bank for South Asia, at the Ministry of Urban Development.
The discussion focused on collaboration in new projects, particularly the Greater Lumbini Area Development Project and urban infrastructure initiatives in Kathmandu, including waste management and river cleanliness.
Vice President Zutt welcomed the ministry’s approach of concentrating on key areas and assured that the World Bank is positive about supporting such initiatives.
He emphasized the Bank’s commitment to assisting Nepal in urban infrastructure development, pollution control, and the improvement of river and air quality in both Lumbini and the Kathmandu Valley.
Expressing gratitude for the World Bank’s ongoing cooperation, Acting Prime Minister Singh highlighted the importance of strengthening this partnership and voiced optimism about deeper collaboration in future projects.
