KATHMANDU: The formal production of ‘Aa Bata Aama 2’ has officially begun with a muhurat ceremony held on Monday at the Patan Banglamukhi Temple in Lalitpur.

The event included a traditional camera and script worship, marking the start of the film’s shooting process in the presence of the director and cast members.

The upcoming sequel to last year’s hit ‘Aa Bata Aama’ brings back several familiar faces, including Pooja Sharma, Bipana Thapa, Pradeep Rawat (widely known for Ghajini), and Gajit Bista.

New addition Aakash Shrestha joins the franchise for the first time, while Naren Khadka also plays a key role.

Directed by Chandra Pant, the film currently has its female lead roles yet to be finalized.

In the previous installment, Simran Pant and Usha Upreti played the lead female characters, and one of them is expected to return for the sequel.

According to the director, casting for the remaining roles is still underway.

The story and screenplay are also written by director Pant himself.

The film will be distributed by RR Films, while its digital rights have been acquired by OSR Digital.

Produced under Arya Entertainment, the project has Karan Singh as production manager.

The makers have already announced the release date, targeting the film’s premiere on the eve of Dashain, Oct 16 (Ashoj 30).
