Lali Bazaar ready for release
Shatkon Arts has built a reputation for delivering profitable films to diaspora distributors, which has generated multiple offers for Lali Bazaar.
KATHMANDU: The movie Lali Bazaar is now fully ready for release, with all technical work completed ahead of its scheduled premiere on Baisakh 18 (May 1).
Production house Shatkon Arts has announced plans to sell the film’s international distribution rights, targeting Nepali diaspora audiences. The move comes after the film’s song “Maya Lai Ke Diu Ma Baina” became an instant hit, garnering over 15 million views on YouTube within a month of its release and inspiring thousands of TikTok videos.
Speaking about the international strategy, producer Max Dipesh Khatri stated, “We wanted the film fully ready before engaging with overseas distributors to ensure a smooth process. Now that all technical work is complete, we are prepared to finalize agreements for international screenings. We aim to complete all distribution deals by the first week of Baisakh.”

Director and writer Yam Thapa highlighted the film’s unique storyline, saying, “Lali Bazaar combines entertainment with social responsibility and offers something new for Nepali audiences. It will be a distinctive cinematic experience.”
The film, shot in Rajapur, Bardiya, features an ensemble cast including Swastima Khadka, Ravindra Singh Baniya, Samaira Thapa, Mukundkumar Shrestha, Abhay Baral, Prem Pandey, Asha Paudel, Govinda Sunar, Abha Aryal, Tara Sharma, Ramesh Wadi, Saraswati Adhikari, Janaki Kathayat, Nischal Panthi, and Birbal Chaudhary. Debut performances come from Vishal Devkota and Prasansha Subedi.
Lali Bazaar’s technical crew includes Executive Producer Pradeep Bhattarai, Creative Director JB Ruwali, Cinematographer Sushan Prajapati, Editor Mitradev Gurung, VFX by Samir Shrestha and Satyam Rana, Background Music and Mixing by Rohit Shakya and Shailesh Shrestha, Art Director Umesh Chaudhary, Costume Designer Janaki Kathayat, and Makeup by Kavya Thapa, among others.
