KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stated that those who are trying to hinder the realization of the dream of a prosperous Nepal and happy Nepali are working against the government.

Addressing the National Convention of the Progressive Engineering Association in Lalitpur on Tuesday, Prime Minister Oli emphasized that while the government is advancing with the determination to fulfill the dream of a prosperous Nepal and a happy Nepali, opposition forces are working to prevent this dream from becoming a reality.

He pointed out that while the role of the legal and constitutional opposition should be realistic and constructive, it has not been so.

He mentioned that opposition parties seem to be focused on saving themselves and tarnishing the reputation of the government and others.

He also stated that he has no time to get distracted by such matters. His focus remains on how to effectively and swiftly implement the policies determined for the country’s development.

Prime Minister Oli said, “We are determined to make the dream of a prosperous Nepal and a happy Nepali a reality. Some people are trying to prevent this from happening. This is natural, as opposition forces will try. However, the role of the legal and constitutional opposition should be realistic and constructive, but it is not. They are very active in trying to discredit the government and others, hiding the truth and spreading lies. I do not want to be distracted by such matters. We must focus on the development of the country. They try to divert our attention, create confusion, and get us entangled in unnecessary matters, but we are not ready for that. We will stay focused on our work and on how to effectively and swiftly implement the policies we have set for the development of the country.”

The Prime Minister further noted that since the 2046 (1990) political change, the country has been moving forward rapidly.

He mentioned that infrastructure is essential for development, and without infrastructure, progress cannot be achieved.
