Sharma urges RSP to drop irrationality on visa issue
Speaking in parliament, Sharma urged caution in addressing the ongoing visit visa controversy, emphasizing the need to avoid emotional responses.
KATHMANDU: During Wednesday’s session of the House of Representatives, Nepali Congress General Secretary Bishwaprakash Sharma advised the lawmakers of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) to refrain from irrational stances, impulsive reactions, and anarchic behavior.
Speaking in parliament, Sharma urged caution in addressing the ongoing visit visa controversy, emphasizing the need to avoid emotional responses.
He highlighted that the highest number of visit visas were issued during the tenure of Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, questioning the RSP’s conclusion that the most human trafficking occurred under the current administration.
Sharma also pointed out the issue of the Deputy Speaker Indira Rana Magar, who was selected by the RSP, and alleged that due to the party’s own stand, the investigation file concerning her remains pending.
Sharma challenged the RSP’s boycott of parliament by questioning, “Is your conclusion really that the highest human trafficking happened during Ravi Lamichhane’s tenure as Home Minister? I want to ask you all to avoid looking at this issue with impulsiveness.”
He concluded by advising the relatively new party to shed the “three A’s” — irrational attitudes, impulsiveness, and anarchic conduct — in order to mature politically.
