RSP’s Asha Jha elected from Morang-5 with huge margin

KATHMANDU: Asha Jha of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Morang Constituency No. 5.

According to the final vote count, Jha secured 30,434 votes, defeating her closest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Phool Kumar Lalbani, who received 9,415 votes.

Jha won the seat with a commanding margin of 21,019 votes.

Similarly, Rajkumar Yadav of the Janata Samajwadi Party obtained 8,747 votes, while Shiv Kumar Mandal Kewat of the Nepal Communist Party received 8,614 votes.

CPN-UML candidate Manoj Kumar Agrawal secured 6,945 votes.

A total of 78,449 votes were cast in the constituency. Of them, 70,560 votes were valid, while 7,889 votes were invalid, according to election officials.
