PSG advance to Club World Cup round of 16 as Group B winners

KATHMANDU: European giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have secured their spot in the Round of 16 of the FIFA Club World Cup after topping Group B with a decisive 2-0 win over Seattle Sounders.
PSG opened the scoring in the 35th minute through Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who finished clinically to give the French side an early advantage.

In the group’s other match, Atletico Madrid edged Botafogo 1-0 thanks to Antoine Griezmann’s 87th-minute goal.
Despite the win, Atletico were eliminated on goal difference, as all three sides – PSG, Botafogo, and Atletico – ended the group stage with six points each. PSG advanced as group winners, while Botafogo progressed as runners-up.
Seattle Sounders finished bottom of the group without a single point and exited the tournament.
