The vaccination program will be carried out from the school.
KATHMANDU: Beginning today, the government is vaccinating children aged five to eleven against COVID-19 in 27 districts. The vaccination program will be carried out from the school, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.
The first dose will be administered to children in 27 districts today through July 29, followed by the second dose from July 18 to 24. The first dose will be administered in the remaining 50 districts from August 21 to 27, and the second dose will be administered from September 12 to 17. According to the Family Welfare Division, the Pfizer Bioentech vaccine given to children in this age group is 99 percent effective and safe.
Normal effect can be seen, do not panic
The government has stated that each vaccination center will have a trained health worker, and if any adverse effects are observed in vaccinated children, treatment will be provided at the center.
The Family Welfare Division has requested that such side effects be taken naturally, as there may be headaches, nausea, vomiting, redness at the injection site, itching, sickness, and rashes following vaccination. Apart from this, if any other effect is seen, an investigation will be started immediately.
