Pfizer vaccine against COVID-19 to children between ages of 5 to 11 from Thursday
Pfizer vaccine will be given to children of the relevant age group in 27 districts across the country.
KATHMANDU: From Thursday, June 23, the Ministry of Health and Population will provide Pfizer vaccine against COVID-19 to children aged 5 to 11 years.
According to the Ministry’s National Health, Education, and Communication Center, the Pfizer vaccine will be given to children of the relevant age group in 27 districts across the country from June 23 to 29 in the first phase.
Of the 27 districts selected for the first phase, Jhapa, Ilam, Morang and Sunsari are from State 1 and Saptari, Dhanusha, Parsa, Siraha and Mahottari are from Madhesh. Similarly, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Kavre, Chitwan, Sindhuli and Makwanpur have been selected from Bagmati while Kaski and Nawalparasi have been selected from Gandaki.
Nawalparasi West, Rupandehi, Banke, Dang and Bardiya have been selected from Lumbini for the first phase. From Karnali, only one district, Surkhet, has been selected for the first phase of vaccination. Similarly, Kailali, Kanchanpur and Dadeldhura are the districts selected from the Far West.
The remaining 50 districts will also be included in the second phase of the vaccination campaign, according to the ministry. The second phase of the vaccination campaign will take place from September 12 to 17.
