KATHMANDU: Chief Whip of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Hitraj Pandey, has called for the immediate formation of the Women MPs’ Coordination Committee.

Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday, Pandey expressed concern that even halfway through the parliamentary term, the process to form the committee has not yet begun.

He criticized the delay, stating that citing financial constraints as a reason was baseless, especially when the parliamentary regulations already clarify that the committee members and office-bearers are not entitled to additional allowances or facilities.

Pandey also demanded that the government clarify its official stance on the issue of polygamy.
