KATHMANDU: Nepal has been placed in Group ‘B’ for the upcoming Asia and East Asia regional qualifiers of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

According to the group division announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday, Nepal will compete against Kuwait and Japan in Group ‘B’. Group ‘A’ includes the UAE, Malaysia, and Qatar, while Group ‘C’ features Oman, Papua New Guinea (PNG), and Samoa.

A total of nine teams are divided into three groups, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the Super Six stage.

The Super Six matches will be held from Oct 12 to 17, and the top three teams from this stage will qualify for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

The group-stage matches are scheduled from Oct 8 to 10. While all matches will be played at a single venue, the host location has yet to be announced.

Nepal recently earned a spot in the Asia Cup after winning the ACC Men’s Premier Cup at home.

To continue its journey toward the 2026 T20 World Cup, Nepal must now secure qualification through the regional qualifiers.
