KATHMANDU: Nepal delivered an impressive all-round performance to defeat the Netherlands by five wickets in the ICC World Cup League 2 match held on Wednesday night.

The standout performer with the bat was Arif Sheikh, who scored a brilliant 78 runs off 99 balls, including 7 fours and 2 sixes.
Dipendra Singh Airee remained unbeaten on 38 runs and guided the team to victory, while captain Rohit Paudel contributed 23 runs before being run out.
Openers Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh scored 25 and 19 runs respectively.
Earlier, after winning the toss and choosing to bat first, the Netherlands were bowled out for 225 runs with one ball remaining in the innings.
Noah Croes top-scored with 48 runs, followed by captain Scott Edwards with 46. Vikramjit Singh added 38, and Jack Luiten scored 27 runs.
Nepal’s bowlers kept steady pressure throughout the innings. Sompal Kami claimed 3 wickets, while Karan KC, Lalit Rajbanshi, and Sandeep Lamichhane picked up two wickets each.
This marks Nepal’s second consecutive win in the series.
With four wins from 14 matches, Nepal now has 10 points and remains in seventh place on the points table.
