Messi magic seals Inter Miami win over Porto

KATHMANDU: Captain Lionel Messi scored a brilliant free-kick as Inter Miami defeated FC Porto 2-1 in the FIFA Club World Cup.

In the Group A clash, Miami came from behind after trailing 1-0.

Porto took the lead in the 8th minute of the first half through a penalty converted by Samuel Aghhehowa.

However, Inter Miami responded strongly in the second half.

Telasco Segovia leveled the score in the 47th minute, and just seven minutes later, Messi curled in a superb free-kick from just outside the box to give Miami the lead.

In the same group, Palmeiras defeated Al Ahly 2-0.

With this result, both Inter Miami and Palmeiras now have 4 points each, while Porto and Al Ahly sit on 1 point each.

In Group B action, Atlético Madrid beat Seattle Sounders 3-1.
