Maoist center discussing to form an opinion about MCC

KATHMANDU: FEB. 6 – The CPN-Maoist is in the process of forming a clear position on the Millennium Challenge Compact 9MCC, a US assistance deal. The UCPN (M) was trying to construct a clear view on the MCC through internal discussions, according to leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

The Maoist Center has begun discussions after Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Chairperson of the Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda sent letters to the MCC, as well as the US response letter to Deuba and Prachanda, became public on Sunday.

After the letter became public, Maoist leaders telephoned Prime Minister Deuba to objection.
