However, Wolves equalised in the second minute of first-half stoppage time through Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, sending the match into the break at 1–1.
The second half belonged entirely to United.
In the 51st minute, Bryan Mbeumo finished off a swift counter-attack to restore the advantage. Mason Mount added the third in the 62nd minute following an excellent through-ball from Fernandes.
United sealed the victory in the 82nd minute when Bruno Fernandes converted a penalty after Yerson Mosquera handled the ball inside the box.
The defeat leaves Wolves still searching for their first win of the season.
Rob Edwards’ side are now 13 points behind 17th-placed Nottingham Forest and remain in deep trouble, marking one of the worst starts to a Premier League campaign in history.
United, meanwhile, sit just one point behind the top four as they continue their push for Champions League qualification.
