Malaysia reports 4,922 new COVID-19 infections, 47 new deaths

KUALA LUMPUR: NOV. 6 – Malaysia reported 4,922 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight Friday, bringing the national total to 2,497,265, according to the health ministry.

Some 10 of the new cases are imported, with 4,912 being local transmissions, data released on the ministry’s website showed.

Another 47 deaths have been reported, bringing the death toll to 29,202.

About 5,579 patients have been released after recovery, bringing the total number of cured and discharged to 2,401,823.

There are some 66,240 active cases, with 549 being held in intensive care and 282 in need of assisted breathing.
