Malaysia reports 4,626 new COVID-19 infections, 63 new deaths

KUALA LUMPUR: NOV. 2 – Malaysia reported another 4,626 new COVID-19 infections, as of midnight Monday, bringing the national total to 2,476,268, according to the health ministry.

Some six of the new cases are imported, with 4,620 being local transmissions, data released on the ministry’s website showed.

Another 63 more deaths have been reported, bringing the death toll to 28,975.

About 5,299 patients have been released after recovery, bringing the total number of cured and discharged to 2,380,060.

There are some 67,233 active cases, 569 are being held in intensive care and 301 of those are in need of assisted breathing.

The country reported 108,031 vaccine doses administered on Monday alone and some 78 percent of the population have received at least one dose and 75 percent are fully vaccinated.
