KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Medical College (KMC) Teaching Hospital has launched its second unit in Duwakot, expanding healthcare services in the region.

The hospital, established with technical support and expertise from Nobel Medical College Teaching Hospital, offers 300 beds and a comprehensive range of medical services.

The hospital provides round-the-clock care under specialist supervision, covering emergency, critical, and routine treatments.

All diagnostic and treatment procedures are carried out using state-of-the-art equipment and advanced medical technologies.

A major highlight is the newly operational cath lab, offering minimally invasive procedures for complex heart and vascular conditions.

Patients can undergo non-surgical interventions such as angioplasty, stent placement, pacemaker implantation, and heart valve repair.

The same technology enables treatment of brain hemorrhages, blocked blood vessels in other parts of the body, and kidney-related vascular issues.

Additionally, the hospital provides ERCP services to remove gallstones without surgery.

Modular operation theatres are fully equipped for all types of surgical procedures, including simultaneous organ transplants for kidney and liver patients.

Other specialized services include obstetrics and gynecology, neonatal intensive care with ventilators (NICU), gastroenterology, dental care, and more.

Modern diagnostic facilities such as endoscopy, colonoscopy, ENT examinations, X-ray, video X-ray, MRI, and CT scan are fully operational.

The hospital also offers free dialysis services.

Services are accessible under government health insurance, social security, and programs supporting underprivileged mothers.

With fully equipped cabins, 24-hour emergency care, an in-house pharmacy, and ambulance services, the hospital aims to provide high-quality healthcare at the local level.
