POKHARA: Dr. Govind KC met with the Chief Minister of Gandaki to discuss the establishment of a government medical college in the state.

He stated that the government requires its own medical college in order to make healthcare available to citizens. He stated that each satte requires at least one medical college.

He met Chief Minister Krishna Chandra Nepali six months ago. KC stated that he returned to understand the government’s initiative on the issue raised at the time.

Chief Minister Pokharel informed that the feasibility study for the operation of a medical college under Gandaki University has been completed and the preparation of the report has reached its final stage. According to him, other possibilities are also being studied.

Dr. Raghuraj Kafle, Vice Chairperson of the State Planning Commission and Coordinator of the Study Working Group on Medical College, stated that he is working diligently in all possible areas. The land government has already begun the process of establishing a medical college in Belchautara, which is located in Shuklagandaki of Tanahun and is affiliated with Gandaki University.
