KATHMANDU: On Sunday afternoon, the Israeli military carried out more than ten airstrikes on the village of Kfar Hatta in southern Lebanon’s Litani River area.

According to Lebanon’s official National News Agency, the attacks caused significant material damage in the region.

Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adrai warned via social media that the strikes targeted Hezbollah’s military infrastructure in Kfar Hatta and were intended to prevent the group from resuming operations there.

Prior to the attack, Adrai urged local residents to move to safe locations and stay at least 300 meters away from the target areas.

In addition to Kfar Hatta, Israel conducted extensive airstrikes in other southern Lebanese locations, including Jabba and Jezzine.

No official reports on civilian casualties have been released so far.

Although a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, mediated by the United States and France, has been in place since Nov 27, 2024, the Israeli military continues operations in Lebanon.

Israel has maintained that these strikes are necessary to neutralize Hezbollah threats.
