Indian PM Modi attends East Asia Summit

NEW DELHI: OCT. 28 – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed the importance of the East Asia Summit (EAS) in bringing together nations to discuss important strategic issues, the Ministry of External Affairs said.

Modi made the remarks when participating in the 16th EAS on Wednesday via a videoconference.

He also highlighted India’s efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic through vaccines and medical supplies.

The EAS summit, hosted by Brunei in the capacity of the Chair of East Asian Summit (EAS) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), saw the participation of leaders from ASEAN countries and other EAS participating countries.

At the summit, the participating leaders also discussed important regional and international issues.
