KATHMANDU: Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the Chair of the CPN (Maoist Centre), has accused the current government of being formed to protect corrupt individuals.

Speaking to the media in Birgunj on Friday, Dahal expressed his concerns, claiming that the government led by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is focused on promoting corruption and rewarding wrongdoers.

He accused the government of shielding corrupt individuals, increasing disorder, and fostering anarchy in the country.

According to Dahal, the government’s primary objective is to protect those involved in corruption while harassing and humiliating those doing good work.

He pointed out the case of Kulman, where the Prime Minister allegedly used his full power to defend a committee chairperson facing serious accusations, highlighting the government’s tendency to protect corrupt individuals.

Dahal also commented that he is not in the race to become Prime Minister until 2028, stating that he plans to remain with the people until then.

He emphasized that, unlike others, the Maoist party remains consistent, whether in government or opposition.

He recalled his past efforts to fight corruption and promote economic development during his tenure as Prime Minister.

Dahal also claimed that his leadership was removed by corrupt forces.
