KATHMANDU: English club Chelsea have secured their place in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup after a convincing 2-0 win over Brazilian side Fluminense on Tuesday night.
The hero of the match was Chelsea’s new signing Joao Pedro, who joined from Brighton just last week.
The Brazilian forward scored both goals for the London side. His first came in the 18th minute with a stunning strike from outside the penalty area, while his second arrived in the 56th minute of the second half.
Fluminense, despite creating some late chances, failed to capitalize, ending their unbeaten run in the tournament.
The second semi-final will be played tonight between Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
The final is scheduled for Sunday.
