ISLAMABAD: At least four miners were killed and five others injured after a coal mine collapsed in Pakistan’s southern Sindh province on Thursday, rescue officials said.
The incident occurred near Meting railway station in Thatta district, where a large section of earth suddenly caved in inside the mine, trapping several workers under the debris, a spokesperson for Rescue 1122 Sindh told Xinhua.
Rescue teams, assisted by local residents, launched an operation and recovered the bodies and injured workers from the collapsed mine, the spokesperson said.
