15 injured as blast rocks mosque in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province

KABUL: NOV. 12 – At least 15 worshippers were injured as a blast rocked a mosque in Achin district of Afghanistan’s eastern Nangarhar province on Friday, an eyewitness said.

The blast, according to the eyewitness who declined to be named, took place at 01:30 p.m. local time Friday when the mosque was full of worshippers.

However, locals believed that the number of casualties could be higher.

This is the second blast inside a mosque in the eastern Nangarhar province over the past month. The hardliner Islamic State outfit had claimed responsibility for the previous blast.
