14 injured in kindergarten bus crash in southwestern Japan

TOKYO: Fourteen people were injured after a kindergarten bus collided with a car on Tuesday morning in Fukuoka Prefecture, southwestern Japan, police said.

The accident occurred at an intersection in the town of Onga at around 9 a.m. local time, police said, noting the crash left 14 people injured, including nine children, four kindergarten staff members and the driver of the car.

The injured were taken to hospital and the extent of their injuries is still being confirmed.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
