KATHMANDU: SuryaJyoti Life Insurance Company Limited successfully concluded its grand Sales Convention–2082 in Pokhara, embracing the powerful motto “We Can.”

The convention set the tone for fiscal year 2082/83 with a focus on motivation, recognition, and future expansion strategies.

The event witnessed the participation of around 200 team members including province heads, regional managers, branch managers, sales executives, branch operations personnel, and department heads from across the country.

The convention was graced by the presence of Company Chairman Mr. Keshav Prasad Bhattarai, board directors Hemant Nahata and Chudamani Devkota, CEO Mr. Prakash Bikram Khatri, and other members of the senior management team.

Training, Vision, and Recognition

The convention served as a platform to evaluate current progress, unveil upcoming growth strategies, and set ambitious targets.

In addition, intensive training sessions were held, including a special session by renowned Indian sales trainer Mr. Anil Kumar Jha, who shared over three decades of experience in life insurance sales, agent development, and personality enhancement.

A key highlight of the event was the recognition of 129 outstanding employees across various categories. The Best Employee of the Year awards were presented in five categories:

  • Province Head: Mohan Puri (Province 7)

  • Regional Manager: Ram Prasad Upadhyay (Sudurpaschim Hill Region)

  • Branch Manager: Rabindra Prasad Sharma (Dailekh Branch)

  • Branch Operations: Sanjay Sundas (New Baneshwor Branch)

  • Sales Executive: Santosh Gyawali (Butwal Palparoad Branch)

These awardees were honored with certificates and accolades by the company’s top leadership.

Visionary Leadership and Innovation

CEO Prakash Bikram Khatri expressed deep gratitude to the entire team for their relentless contributions to the life insurance sector, emphasizing the core belief: “The policyholder’s interest is the company’s interest.” He also committed to launching more international-level training and capacity-building programs in the near future.

Chief Business Officer Mr.Parshuram Marasini delivered the annual business review and outlined strategic plans to achieve the company’s goals, encouraging staff to push beyond limits.

This prestigious event was excellently and effectively conducted by Mr. Uttam Acharya, Head of the Training and Development Department of the company.

Pioneering Achievements

SuryaJyoti has recently introduced e-Karja, Nepal’s first digital life-insurance-backed loan service, and the SuryaJyoti Cares digital card for enhanced policyholder and agent services.

SuryaJyoti Life is Nepal’s first life insurance company to receive ISO 9001:2015 certification. With a paid-up capital of Rs 5.01 billion, total investments of Rs 46 billion, life insurance fund of Rs 42 billion, net worth of Rs 6.28 billion, and over 3.4 million policies issued, the company continues to lead in innovation and customer trust.

The company operates through 173 branches nationwide and has a robust force of more than 103,000 trained agents.

It is also the only life insurer in Nepal offering up to Rs 5 million in coverage for treatment of 35 critical illnesses.

Chair Bhattarai, in his closing remarks, stressed that with relentless dedication and teamwork, any goal is achievable.
