Special Court seeks SC orders in Teramocs scam

KATHMANDU: The Special Court has requested two orders from the Supreme Court in connection with the Teramocs corruption case.

The case involves Nepali Congress leader and former Minister of Communication, Mohan Bahadur Basnet, who is accused of corruption in the purchase of Teramocs equipment and systems for the Traffic Monitoring and Fraud Control System under the Nepal Telecommunications Authority.
On May 14 last year, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed corruption charges against Basnet and 16 others.
The case alleges financial irregularities amounting to Rs 3.2183 billion.
