Speaker, Deputy Speaker’s term ends

KATHMANDU: The terms of House of Representatives Speaker Devraj Ghimire and Deputy Speaker Indira Ranamagar have officially ended.

According to parliamentary rules, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker remain in office only until the day before the submission of nominations for the upcoming elections.

With political parties submitting their proportional representation candidate lists to the Election Commission today for the elections scheduled on Falgun 21 (Maarch 5), their tenure has now concluded.

The Election Commission had set today and tomorrow as the deadline for submitting proportional representation candidate lists.
