Pun set to become Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation

KATHMANDU: Independent lawmaker Mahabir Pun is set to be appointed as the Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation in the newly formed ministry, according to sources at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
Officials said Pun is scheduled to take the oath of office today.
The government recently established the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation and has decided to place Pun at its leadership, recognizing his long-standing contribution to technology, innovation, and research development.
Alongside him, Sudhan Gurung is also expected to be sworn in today as he returns to the Home Ministry.
Pun, widely known for his decades of work in promoting innovation and rural technology development in Nepal, is expected to prioritize strengthening research systems, promoting innovation, and institutionalizing scientific advancement under his leadership.
