KATHMANDU: Kathmandu’s Mayor, Balen Shah, has publicly expressed his views on the upcoming protest scheduled for tomorrow, calling it a spontaneous movement led by the youth of Generation Z.

According to Shah, the protest marks a significant milestone in Nepal’s political landscape, emphasizing the importance of understanding the aspirations and goals of individuals under 28.

In his statement, Shah underscored that the rally is driven purely by public sentiment, not by any political party, leader, or activist seeking personal gain. “Tomorrow’s rally will be a genuine expression of the people’s voice. It should not be hijacked by any political agenda or personal interest,” Shah said.

Despite not being able to participate due to his age, the Mayor reiterated his full support for the cause, emphasizing his desire to understand the motivations behind the protest. “I may not join the rally myself, but I am keen to grasp the desires and objectives of the youth. I stand with them,” he added.

Shah also posed a question to the youth: “Dear Gen Z, what kind of country do you wish to see?”
