KATHMANDU: The official trailer of the upcoming Nepali film ‘Malati Mangale’, set to hit theatres on Baisakh 25 (May 8), has been released.
The trailer was unveiled at a special event held at QFX Cinemas, Labim Mall, Lalitpur, in the presence of the film’s cast and crew.
Lead actors Bijay Baral, Barsha Raut, and Maksam Gaudel attended the launch event along with producer and senior singer Ram Krishna Dhakal, director Praku Pandey, executive producer Sagar Ghimire, and other members of the team.
The newly released trailer presents ‘Malati Mangale’ as a complete family and social drama. It highlights the love story between Malati (Barsha Raut) and Mangale (Bijay Baral), the emotional conflicts in their relationship, and the resulting family tensions.
Actor Mexam Gaudel is introduced in a negative role as Hari. The trailer also reflects friendship dynamics and the challenges within those relationships.
The film addresses social discrimination, particularly gender-based bias between sons and daughters. A powerful dialogue featured in the trailer—“You only see a broken nose, not a broken honor”—vividly portrays the societal pressure surrounding reputation and honor.
The trailer also includes glimpses of popular songs from the film, including ‘Jhyam Param’ and ‘Sunaiko Sapani’.
Produced under the banner of Rani Films in collaboration with Uni Entertainment, the story of the film has been written by director Praku Pandey himself, while the screenplay and dialogues are by Sanyog Guragai.
The film features a strong ensemble cast including Vijay Baral, Barsha Raut, Maksam Gaudel, Prakash Ghimire, Sarita Giri, Narin Thapa, Mansu Sapkota, Sushma Niraula, Sunil Tamang, and several others.
Previously released promotional materials include a teaser and songs such as ‘Sunaiko Sapani’, ‘Dhunga Mathi Leu’, and the energetic dance number ‘Jhyam Param’.
The film’s executive producer is Sagar Ghimire, while Baboo Subedi, Robin Shrestha, Vedana Karmacharya, Padmavati Gurung, Swikriti Basnet, and Milan Bajgai serve as co-producers.
The technical team includes cinematographer Mahesh Paudel, editor Romi Mozes, colorist Krishna Bhandari, background score composer Sujil Karmacharya, and sound designer Dikesh Khadgi, contributing to what the makers describe as a high-quality production.
Distributed by RR Films, the production team is confident that ‘Malati Mangale’ will deliver complete entertainment to audiences upon its nationwide release on May 8.
