Mahesh pairing with Pooja in ‘Man Binako Dhan 2’

KATHMANDU: Director and musician Tanka Budathoki is actively finalizing the cast of his upcoming film Man Binako Dhan 2.

The production recently confirmed actress Pooja Sharma as the female lead, and now actor Mahesh Tripathi has officially joined the project after signing a contract on Tuesday.

In the film, Mahesh Tripathi and Pooja Sharma will appear as an on-screen pair for the second time.

The duo previously worked together in 36 Ko Aakada, directed by Sabir Shrestha, though they were not cast as a couple in that film, which is yet to be released.

The script and dialogues for Man Binako Dhan 2 are being written by Shivam Adhikari, while Budathoki himself will compose the film’s music. The movie is being produced under Tanka Budathoki Films by producer Bishnu Maya Mainali.

Filming is scheduled to begin from Bhadra (August–September), with a target release planned within this year.

The film continues the legacy of Budathoki’s hit song Man Binako Dhan, which was released around seven years ago and has surpassed 30 million views on YouTube.

The song also marked the debut of child singer Ashok Darji, who played a central role in the original film adaptation of the same name. However, his involvement in the sequel has not yet been confirmed.
