LS Auto unveils three new EV models, enters Nepal market with LEV 01 SUV

KATHMANDU: LS Auto, a new energy vehicle brand under Shanghai Launch Automotive Technology, has entered the Nepali market through its official distributor, Nexon Venture, with the debut of its first model, the LEV 01 electric SUV.

A subsidiary of the world’s largest design house, LS Auto is now poised to become a key player in the global EV landscape.

The company showcased its LEV series, beginning with the LEV 01, and announced plans to unveil two more models — LEV 05 and LEV X — at the 2025 NAIMA Auto Show. All three models will be available in both right-hand and left-hand drive variants, making them suitable for the Nepali market.

LEV 01: All-Electric Crossover Now in Nepal

The LEV 01 CE/SE, now available in Nepal, features a 67.12 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery using SVOLT’s advanced honeycomb architecture. The EV is equipped with a 99 kW front-wheel drive motor, delivering 300 Nm torque and up to 500 km range on a single charge.

Key specifications include:

• Ground clearance: 210 mm (ideal for Nepali roads)

• Battery-to-ground clearance: 221 mm

• Drag coefficient: Just 0.268 – one of the lowest among electric SUVs

• Design highlights: Sleek aerodynamic build, suspended tail lights, LED DRLs and vertical headlights

Premium features include a panoramic sunroof, 360° camera, wireless charging pad, ambient lighting, 10 airbags, and a luxury cabin with LCD instrument cluster.

LEV 05: Compact SUV with Extended Range

The upcoming LEV 05 is a midsize compact SUV fitted with a 56 kWh LFP battery, offering 400+ km range. It features:

• 50 kW front-wheel drive motor (180 Nm torque)

• 17-inch alloy wheels and 175 mm ground clearance

• DC fast charging (60 kW) and AC charging (7 kW)

• Largest battery pack in its segment

LEV X: Premium 4WD Performance

The LEV X is a crossover SUV and the 4WD upgrade of the LEV 01. It features:

• Dual motors (front and rear) producing a total of 200 kW

• Large 77 kWh battery pack

• Enhanced features like a redesigned dashboard, hydraulic bonnet, and front luggage compartment (frunk)

Nepal-Specific Offerings and Pricing

The LEV 01 is available in:

• Standard Edition: Rs 59.95 lakh

• Comfort Edition: Rs 64.95 lakh

Prices for LEV 05 and LEV X will be revealed at the NAIMA Auto Show.

LS Auto offers an 8-year or 150,000 km warranty on both motor and battery. The vehicle has earned a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating, underscoring its global safety standards.

Charging Infrastructure & Service Support

LS Auto plans to expand EV infrastructure across Nepal. A charging station is already operational in Tinkune, Kathmandu, and a full-service center is active at Kalopul.

With a lineup of feature-rich, safety-certified EVs and plans for nationwide support, LS Auto aims to drive the next phase of clean mobility in Nepal and beyond.
