KATHMANDU: The Janamat Party has suspended five individuals, including its leader, Shiva Chandra Kushwaha. He was punished for violating discipline.
Shiva Chandra Kushwaha, who defected from the Maoist Centre and joined the Janamat Party, has been penalized by being denied membership in the party.
In the most recent by-election, he was defeated by Janata Samajwadi Party Chair Upendra Yadav from Bara 2.
The party disciplinary committee held on Wednesday suspended Shiv Chandra Kushwaha (Bara), Gulab Mandal (Saptari), Shankar Khadka (Saptari), Bhopendra Yadav (Rupandehi), Bhagwan Das Yadav (Kapilvastu) as ordinary members.
