HoR meeting: MP Sovita Gautam discloses misconduct in constituency visit
Speaking in the House of Representatives on Monday, she disclosed instances of misconduct towards her during an inspection of Kathmandu's Kageshwari Manohara Municipality in Mulpani.
KATHMANDU: Member of Parliament from the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Sovita Gautam, revealed mistreatment directed towards her when she visited her constituency.
Speaking in the House of Representatives on Monday, she disclosed instances of misconduct towards her during an inspection of Kathmandu’s Kageshwari Manohara Municipality in Mulpani.
“I visited my electoral area (Kathmandu-2) recently for inspection during the monsoon. I reached Manakamana Tole in Ward No. 6 of Kageshwari Manohara around five in the evening. I went down the road towards the Mulpani Cricket Stadium.
During the inspection, I encountered disrespectful behavior from young people, not in normal conditions,” she said.
She also mentioned that a portion of the recent incident involving misconduct had been uploaded on social media.
“Open the Facebook profile of the person who uploaded that video. It should be someone who holds a sensitive position in a national party! Is it acceptable for youth organizations to terrify girls and people on the street? Isn’t this behavior uncivilized?” she questioned.
The government highlighted concerns about security challenges being sensitive to think about.
