KATHMANDU: Himalayan Distillery Limited (HDL) has introduced Shlok Himalayan Premium Whisky, a new addition to its premium spirits portfolio, in select outlets across Kathmandu.
According to the company, Shlok embodies the purity and craftsmanship inspired by the Himalayas.
The whisky is matured in Quercus Alba barrels and features a balanced blend of honeyed oak, soft vanilla, and rich caramel, finishing with subtle smokiness. HDL describes the product as a “medium-bodied whisky that reflects both tradition and modern refinement.”
The development of Shlok reportedly took more than five years, with over 400 samples evaluated to achieve what HDL calls its “perfect harmony of flavor and aroma.” “Shlok is not just a drink but an experience — a tribute to the Himalayas and the art of distillation,” a company representative said.
The whisky is now available in three pack sizes—750ml, 180ml, and 90ml—priced at Rs 2,860, Rs 715, and Rs 360 per bottle respectively.
HDL said Shlok Himalayan Premium Whisky represents a significant step in its effort to redefine Nepal’s premium whisky market. The company believes the launch will appeal to discerning consumers seeking a refined, homegrown spirit with international standards.
