Geely Auto deploys 100 Chinese welding robots, boosts smart production speed
A total of 98 robots manufactured by Siasun Robot & Automation have been installed in Geely’s welding workshop.
KATHMANDU: Geely Auto has successfully deployed around 100 domestically developed welding robots at its production plant in Yiwu, eastern China.

According to Zhou Jun, Director of Geely Auto’s Intelligent Manufacturing Division, the deployment demonstrates the stability and consistent quality of China-made industrial equipment.
The robots were custom-designed by Siasun to meet Geely Auto’s specific production requirements, with a strong focus on efficiency, adaptability, and operational performance. Zhou highlighted that the ability to tailor domestic equipment to factory needs is one of its key strengths.
Following the integration of these robots, production efficiency has improved significantly. The line is now capable of assembling one car every 50 seconds, marking a notable advancement in manufacturing speed.
Chen Hufeng, Senior Director at Siasun Robot & Automation Co., Ltd., stated that each welding point can now be completed in just 2.2 seconds, reflecting the high precision and speed of the automated system.
Geely Auto—one of China’s leading automobile manufacturers—emphasized that this collaboration reflects the growing role of smart manufacturing and the rising capabilities of domestic robotics in transforming the automotive industry.
