Education Minister Pun resigns to focus on campaign

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s Minister for Education, Science, and Technology, Mahabir Pun, has resigned from his post to dedicate himself to his political campaign.

He submitted his resignation on Tuesday morning.

Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal confirmed the development on social media, stating, “Mahabir Pun has resigned to focus on his campaign.”

This follows a wave of resignations by other ministers entering the political arena ahead of the elections. Former Energy Minister Kulman Ghising resigned to lead the Ujyalo Nepal Party in the upcoming polls.

Likewise, Youth and Sports Minister Bablu Gupta and Communications Minister Jagdish Kharel have also stepped down to join politics.
