KATHMANDU: DishHome (GO), the official live broadcast partner of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2025, successfully streamed the opening match between Janakpur Bolts and Kathmandu Gorkhas to over 200,000 concurrent viewers.
In technical terms, this number reflects the platform’s “concurrent viewership”, highlighting DishHome (GO)’s technical readiness and streaming capabilities.
While the launch was largely successful, some users faced difficulties accessing the live stream. These issues were not solely due to DishHome (GO) but arose from the complex, multi-stakeholder system, particularly related to NPL Season Pass subscription processes.
iOS users experienced temporary difficulties during the subscription purchase, whereas Android users could access the live stream without issues.
DishHome (GO) engineers, along with global technical partners, worked continuously to resolve these challenges. By the second day, iOS users were able to purchase Season Pass subscriptions and watch matches seamlessly.
Similarly, technical issues for the second and third days of matches were fully resolved, with thousands of system requests processed successfully.
Refunds for users who were double-charged are already underway.
To further simplify access, from Wednesday onwards, NPL Season Pass vouchers can be purchased via Khalti and eSewa, usable exclusively within Nepal. Users can purchase multiple vouchers, allowing friends and family to enjoy matches together on mobile devices.
By successfully delivering Nepal’s first-ever fully mobile live sports streaming experience, DishHome (GO) has established itself as a pioneer in the country’s broadcasting sector.
The platform now aims to expand beyond national boundaries and compete among the world’s leading streaming services.
An official spokesperson for DishHome (GO) stated, “The technical challenges we faced were not solely ours but involved multiple stakeholders. Despite initial difficulties, nearly 200,000 viewers could watch the opening match for free. From the second day onwards, all users have been able to access the full subscription service seamlessly. We consider this a historic achievement in Nepal’s live broadcasting history and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience, ensuring refunds for any duplicate payments.”
