Dalit boy beaten for entering house; three arrested
The victim, identified as Khagendra BK, was allegedly beaten on Friday after entering the house of a local resident, Bhim Bahadur Khatri.
KATHMANDU: Police have arrested three individuals for brutally assaulting an 11-year-old Dalit boy in Gangadev Rural Municipality–5, Phulbas Bhattra, Rolpa.
The victim, identified as Khagendra BK, was allegedly beaten on Friday after entering the house of a local resident, Bhim Bahadur Khatri.
According to Chief District Officer Ganga Bahadur Kshetri, the incident occurred on Baisakh 11 (April 24).
“Preliminary investigation shows the boy was assaulted on the pretext of entering Khatri’s house. Police have detained three individuals, including Bhim Bahadur Khatri and Mast Bahadur Khatri, and further investigation is underway,” he said.
Following the assault, the child was taken to Dang for medical treatment and was discharged from the hospital on Monday.
Authorities have launched a detailed investigation into the case.
