CPN-UML changes Lumbini candidates: Gaire, Ali to contest

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML has made last-minute changes to its candidate lineup in two Lumbini Province constituencies.

In Palpa-2, central committee member Thakur Gaire has been awarded the official ticket, replacing earlier speculation that Rambahadur Raut would contest.

Lumbini Province Committee Chair Radhakrishna Kandel confirmed, “Thakur Gaire is the official candidate and will represent the party in Palpa-2.”

Similarly, in Rupandehi-4, Hazrat Ali replaces Sunita Thather, who had been initially selected but expressed no interest in contesting.

Thather, a long-time local leader, remains active in party affairs at the local level.
