Congress replaces Lekhak with Bohara in Kanchanpur-3
The party’s Parliamentary Board has instead nominated Hari Bohara to contest from the constituency.
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress has decided not to field former Home Minister and influential leader Ramesh Lekhak as its candidate for the upcoming House of Representatives election in Kanchanpur-3
The party’s Parliamentary Board has instead nominated Hari Bohara to contest from the constituency.
Lekhak, who won the seat in the 2079 general elections, was considered the natural frontrunner this time as well.
However, the party’s latest decision has kept him out of the electoral race.
Lekhak, a former central committee member, had served as Home Minister during the “Gen Z” movement.
Confirming his nomination, Hari Bohara stated that he is preparing to contest from Kanchanpur-3.
Speaking to the media, he said, “The party leadership has entrusted me with this responsibility, and I am officially entering the election race.”
