KATHMANDU: Manchester City booked their place in a fourth consecutive FA Cup final after a dramatic 2–1 comeback victory over Southampton.
Pep Guardiola’s side, already winners of the EFL Cup this season, kept their hopes alive for a third FA Cup title under Pep Guardiola.
City will now face either Chelsea or Leeds United in the final at Wembley Stadium on May 16.
Guardiola made eight changes to the lineup following the Burnley match, and City struggled to find rhythm early on. The first half produced few clear chances, with both sides locked in a tight contest that continued into the second half.
The breakthrough came late when Finn Azaz fired a long-range effort to give Southampton the lead with 11 minutes remaining.
However, City responded swiftly. Jérémy Doku saw his shot deflect into the net in the 81st minute to level the score. Just six minutes later, Nico González struck a powerful winner to complete the turnaround.
