KATHMANDU: Bagmati Province Assembly member Yubaraj Dulal (Sharad) has resigned from his provincial assembly post.

The decision comes after the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) granted him a direct-ticket nomination to contest the House of Representatives from Sindhupalchowk Constituency No. 2.

Dulal was directly elected to the provincial assembly in 2079 BS from Sindhupalchowk Constituency No. 2 (B).

He said he decided to resign to honor the party’s trust in nominating him for the federal position.

“I have submitted my resignation to the provincial assembly secretariat and have just returned to my constituency in Sindhupalchok. Tomorrow, I will file my nomination for the House of Representatives,” Dulal stated.

Ramkumar Paudel, Secretary of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly Secretariat, confirmed that Dulal’s resignation letter has been received and that the formal approval process is underway.
