KATHMANDU: Vehicular movement along the BP Highway has been completely suspended from 12:30 PM today as a precautionary measure due to potential risks, authorities said.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Raveen Bista of the District Police Office Dhulikhel, the decision was taken after the water level in the Roshi Khola rose significantly, posing threats to passengers and vehicles.

All types of vehicles traveling through the Roshi section have been halted.

Vehicles heading along the route have been stopped at Dhulikhel on the Kavre side, while coordination with the Saptari/Sindhuli security committee has led to stoppages at Khurkot and Nepalthok.

Authorities noted that the BP Highway has been repeatedly disrupted in recent days due to unseasonal rainfall, forcing intermittent and now extended closures, including nighttime restrictions.

Police have urged travelers to check road conditions before starting their journeys and to prioritize safety as the situation remains unstable.
