KATHMANDU: As the celebration of Holi begins, the traffic police in the Kathmandu Valley have intensified checks to ensure order and safety.
Holi festivities started early in the morning across the valley, prompting the police to tighten their inspection measures.
The police have increased surveillance due to concerns over disruptive activities such as throwing water balloons, driving under the influence, and other risky behaviors.
Key areas in the Kathmandu Valley, including Thapathali, Tripureshwar, New Road, Kantipath, Durbar Marg, Bhadrakali, and Bagikhel, are under strict inspection.
To ensure a safe celebration, Nepal Police has urged everyone to celebrate Holi responsibly.
They have also cautioned the public not to engage in risky activities like playing Holi on rooftops or other dangerous locations.
In total, over 90 locations in Kathmandu are being monitored by the police, with drones deployed for additional surveillance to prevent potential accidents.
