KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has described Holi as more than just a festival of colors, calling it a symbol of diversity, unity, and national harmony. Extending his best wishes to all Nepalese, he emphasized that festivals strengthen communal bonds and promote cultural integration.

Highlighting Nepal’s rich cultural diversity, PM Oli noted that Holi, celebrated today in the hilly regions and tomorrow in the Terai, showcases the nation’s multicultural beauty.

He stated, “Holi represents the harmony of diverse ethnicities, languages, and traditions. Our unity in diversity is our national identity.” He further stressed the need to respect, preserve, and promote cultural traditions, seeing Holi as an opportunity to enhance mutual understanding and coexistence.

Similarly, President Ram Chandra Paudel expressed hope that Holi would reinforce social harmony and national unity. In his message, he wished for the festival to help eradicate societal evils while fostering cultural preservation. “Unity in diversity defines Nepal’s beauty. I believe this festival will further strengthen our bond by replacing resentment with love and warmth,” he stated. He extended warm wishes for peace and prosperity to all Nepalese at home and abroad.

Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba also shared his greetings, stating that, like the vibrant colors of Holi, Nepalese society is enriched by ethnic, linguistic, and cultural diversity.

He emphasized that Holi symbolizes the triumph of justice over injustice and fosters familial love, unity, and social harmony. He wished for the festival to bring happiness, peace, and prosperity to all.

The Holi festival, marked by the raising and burning of the ceremonial chir, signifies the victory of truth over falsehood, justice over injustice, and virtue over vice.

Celebrated with joy, colors, and unity, Holi continues to spread the message of reconciliation and goodwill across Nepal.
