Murder of Shaheed Ansari linked to love affair
Investigations have revealed that Ansari was murdered by his girlfriend Anita Kumari Yadav and her husband Rajkishor Yadav.
KATHMANDU: The body found under the bridge of Khaira Khola in Purandaha, Ward-2, Mithila Bihari Municipality has been identified as that of 33-year-old Shaheed Ansari.
Investigations have revealed that Ansari was murdered by his girlfriend Anita Kumari Yadav and her husband Rajkishor Yadav.
Ansari, who worked in Qatar, had been in a two-year relationship with Anita. She had invited him to Nepal under the pretext of her wife being ill.
On Dec 12, Anita and her husband brutally killed Ansari with a cleaver. After the murder, his body was wrapped in a gunny bag and dumped in Khaira Khola.
Initially, the police could not identify the body, so they released a sketch.
On Jan 23, Ansari’s wife, Azima Khatun, identified the body after seeing a photo on the police’s Facebook page, leading to the revelation of the case.
Anita Yadav has been arrested from the village, and the court has extended her custody for three days.
Meanwhile, Rajkishor Yadav, who fled to Saudi Arabia after the murder, is being sought, and legal processes to bring him back to Nepal are underway.
